Enhance Meditation with Scent

Essential Oil

Essential oils give plants their scents; they are what we smell when we breathe in a rose’s fragrance or the soothing aroma of lavender. Typically extracted from herbs, flowers, trees, roots, and seeds, essential oils are available in many choices such as bergamot, eucalyptus, honeysuckle, peppermint, sage, and spruce—and that’s only naming a few! Some products come as blends of several oils, though you can easily make your own.

When you add essential oils to the practice of meditation—or even use them on their own—you create a sense of calm and well-being. This blend helps encourage intuition. Apply it to wrists, upper chest, and back of neck. Rub in until the oil is fully absorbed. Bring your wrists up to your nose and breathe deeply.

Ingredients:

  • 2 drops rosemary
  • 2 drops sweet basil
  • 2 drops spearmint
  • 2 drops Atlas cedarwood
  • 2 drops frankincense
  • 2 teaspoons carrier oil
